The Hidden Glen neighborhood in Round Rock has several Karst Preserves in and around the community. A karst preserve is an area that is protected from development because of the presence of sinkholes or caves which, if covered, could impact the ability to recharge the aquifer below.
Karst are common in the western parts of Williamson County. Several endagered species are known to habit these areas.
